I think you can change part of your workflow. Rather than importing the rushes directly into the library, you can change the library settings so that Final Cut Pro imports the rushes into a folder. This will make the encapsulation in QuickTime in the folder of your choice. For naming, Final Cut Pro has a batch renaming function, but it will have no effect on files in Finder. A script could do this job (copy the file names and paste them on the rushes in Final Cut Pro). There are surely ways to optimize this. 😄

File management, another reason I dislike FCPX. Seemed to be so simple in legacy FCP.

Before travelling down the road did you test FCPX or Black Magic Media Express to record to ProRes?

AVCHD its maybe old, my vixia is from 2012 but i dont feel like "vintage format" its actually my main camera for vloging and the 1920 60fps with the RGB, it feels modern picture

Very different approach and I also have a similar vintage Canon Vixia I've used for live streaming. I use FCP Import Archive function to archive the SD card as is. If need be I use KeyFlow Pro to make proxies. I use KeyFlow Pro to find where I've archived the video and watch the proxies. I then go to the archived card and import as needed. I also have archived Sony XDCAM EX1 clips which I do the same with. I like keeping my steps to a minimum. I can also convert to another codec wrapped in MOV at some point.

I’ve been using FCPX for 10 plus year as my professional video editing program. I’m finding other FCPX UA-camers like yourself saying FCPX is. No longer a professional VIdeo editing program. I love using FCPX but being pushed to use DaVinci Resolve?

AVCHD format takes me back to the start of my career. Hard to believer that my iPhone 15 has a higher bitrate at times than AVCHD 😅

I loved Apples Aperture. It was a solid photo editor compared to adobes crap. Adobe anything is just bloated garbage. I also moved to Logic Pro for my Audio Production 2 years ago after using Avid Pro Tools dor over a decade and the difference is noticeable. Avid Pro Tools is bloated crap.

Loved aperture i used it for years and it is so quick and easy also the metadata editting is so much quicker in Aperture. To bad Apple ditched it… the photo’s app is still not at level of Aperture. I also have an old macbook pro with Aperture still running my old library of an old xternal harddrive

OWC is the GOAT!!! I have been using OWC for years now and love their workflow tech.

Yes. I also don't use Adobe anymore. Especially when they was planning to shift to cloud and monthly bases and it was a planning stage and I just decided to discontinued and look for other alternative like KDEnLive and Krita. Which it perfect for me. I could manipulate whatever I want. And Photopea was also my alternative to Photoshop. As a Linux or Unix's MacOS user.

Protip, turn on video skimming and then Audio skimming, then turn off video skimming and the audio skimming remains on but greyed out. Then you can have a normal setup with frame by frame audio skimming. I really don't work in video skimming ever, but I really love being able to audio skim now frame by frame.
